Saturdays Are Better Spent Working...

99.9 % of Saturdays are spent "working" with the ODD occasional Saturday off (VERY RARE and feels strange).
Saturdays are one of my busiest days of the week. I need to be like one of those energise bunnies to be able to complete the day (sometimes another 12 hour shift).
I enjoy working Saturdays, every Saturday is different, every Saturday I meet new potential clients, eat cake, every Saturday I meet or see cake clients pick up their edible celebration pieces, eat cake, every Saturday I deliver to some AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL places here in Perth... and every Saturday I finish and fine detail cake creations that I didn't get to finish on the Friday... now to my list 3 hour Saturday afternoon classes (if possible)... OH MY

Saturday the 25th of January was a tip top, fine form, crazy Saturday for me but I did walk away from the shop feeling satisfied that I accomplished alot with in 12 hours.

After setting up cars for cake pick ups, meeting nice wonderful ladies who are becoming brides, eating cake, drinking LOADS of coffee I got to spend the afternoon kickin' it with Johnny again for a cake due out on the Sunday.

Me, Johnny, Led Zeppelin and a white canvas cake... we rocked the Delicate-Lee shop.

First task for this cake... Respecting my cake and covering the cake board with some colour.

This cake owner loves his classical music and wood work SO I thought that it would be awesome to bring the two things together to help set his cake design.

**Keys first, remember airbrush the violet first, helps give a more true black**

Now... some texture for the wood. I use mixtures of Yellow, Red and Orange with a dash of blue to create the different shades of Brown.

Some fondant "tool" to help finish the job...

Airbrush the cake a shade of grass green with some texture lines and finish off with some fondant decorations and my Saturday afternoon of decoration is COMPLETE...
